John J. Trutwin of Mt. Prospect, IL passed away on February 23, 2016. He was the son of Robert and Klara Trutwin, both deceased. He was the devoted husband of Nancy Trutwin.
He received his primary education in Germany and emigrated to the USA where he graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology with a degree in Electrical Engineering . He was a registered engineer in Illinois and 6 other states. He was also a Life Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. He was responsible for the electrical design of many major commercial, educational and healthcare projects. John retired as Senior VP of Environmental Systems Design, Inc.
John was preceded in death by his daughter Gabriella Casimer nee Trutwin and is survived by his grandchildren Kyle (Carissa) Casimer and Amanda Casimer. John is also survived by his wife Nancy and stepsons Thomas (Debbie), Michael (Liz) and James Owens and their children Mary, Stephen, Kelly, Matthew, Lindsey and Teaghan.
Visitation Friday, 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd., at Northwest Hwy., Mt. Prospect. Visitation Saturday 9:30 AM until Mass 10:30 AM at St. Raymond de Penafort Church, Elmhurst Rd. (Rt 83) at Lincoln St., Mt. Prospect. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated for the charities of St. Raymond de Penafort Church.
